In sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Aleyamma Cherian Kappil on June 8, 2025, in Houston, Texas. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, Aleyamma was the heart of her family. Her unwavering love and deep kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on January 21, 1935, in Vakathanam, Kerala, India, Aleyamma made her home in Pasadena and Deer Park, Texas, where she lived for nearly 35 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cherian Joseph Kappil. Together, they shared 47 beautiful years of marriage, creating a home filled with love, faith, and lasting memories that continue to inspire those they leave behind.
Aleyamma is lovingly remembered by her three sons—Joseph, Thomas, and George—and her daughters-in-law, Jenny, Molly, and Darol. She was a devoted grandmother to Jerry & Lisa, Jojo & Jonathan, and Elizabeth & Ryan, all of whom she helped raise from birth through their early years. Her greatest joy in recent years was becoming a great-grandmother to Ariana.
A wake will be held at St. Marys of the Immaculate Conception Church, 816 Park Dr, La Porte, TX 77571, on Friday, June 27, at 6:00 PM. The funeral mass will follow at the same location on Saturday, June 28, at 9:00 AM, with a graveside service at 11:30 AM at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Freeway, Dickinson, TX 77539, where she will be laid to rest.
Though Aleyamma has left this earthly life, her legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

We observed her as a cool and gentle personality pouring love and affection to all those around her.
