Lena Maureen Biondo Hardee

Her Life Tribute

Lena Biondo Hardee, 73, resident of Sugarland, Texas passed from this life, April 28, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Galveston, Texas on July 28, 1951 to proud and loving parents, Jack Biondo and Emily Morgan Biondo. Lena was raised in Dickinson Texas and graduated from Dickinson High School. She went on to study nursing at San Jacinto College. She worked primarily as a pediatric nurse in several area hospitals including Alvin and Rosewood in Houston. She further expanded her career by working as an executive commodity assistant at Drexel, Burnham and Lambert. However, her heart was with children. All she really wanted in life was to be a Mom. The Lord blessed her with a daughter, Heather, in 1984 and a son, Billy, in 1988, who happened to be born on her birthday which made for interesting birthday celebrations.

The Lord’s blessings did not end there. She was blessed with great lifelong friends. Many came from Southminster Presbyterian Church. Lena was active in establishing the church, was a board member of Mother’s Day Out Preschool, active in youth group, helped establish 5th Street Medical Mission in Stafford and other Christian activities. She was also active with her children’s school activities and Quail Valley Garden Club. Later in life she developed a love of sewing and established a quilting group of lifelong friends. Many a Tuesday night you would see the light burning bright as these ladies quilted, talked about events in the lives of family and friends and perhaps shared a glass of wine together. These quilts are evidence of the love she had for all and can be found in many homes. She was a loving soul who enjoyed giving to others.

She met and married the love of her life, Will Hardee and from that union was blessed with two children. Lena was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was their YaYa.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, H.H. “Will” Hardee; daughter, Heather Leigh Hardee and husband James Branda; son, Billy Hardee and wife Allison; sister, Gloria Hales and husband James; brother, Andrew Tabor and wife Nancy; three grandchildren; Ellie, Liam, and Jack, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

In her honor a graveside service for family will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:00am at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson, Texas.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 31 at 2 pm. Southminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Brightwater Drive, Missouri City, Tx. 77459-1832.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fort Bend Women’s Center or Southminster Presbyterian Mission and Outreach.

  1. A beautiful woman in every way, and a dear friend to our family. A most generous spirit and full of joy, she will be missed by all whom she touched. Lena welcomed us to Sugar Land when we moved across the street and were lucky enough to be neighbors to her and Will for over 15 years and friends thereafter. We will miss her presence, her laughter, and her kindness, and extend our love and deepest condolences to her wonderful family.
