Merlon Dale Turner

 Merlon Dale Turner, 90, a Rosharon, TX resident since 1981 was born July 22, 1926 in Sulpher Springs, TX and passed away April 11, 2017 in Pearland, TX.

Merlon joined the Merchant Marines as a combat engineer soon thereafter, he went to serve his country in the U.S Army during WWII and the Korean War as a Sergeant.

Merlon was a lifetime member and lifetime committeeman with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for over 30 years. He worked 25 years for Country Place Golf Course as a Superintendent.

Merlon is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Turner; parents; one sister Carmen and two brothers Buel and Billy.

Merlon leaves behind his daughter, Carolyn Plemons, husband Roy; Joe Turner, wife Felicia; grandchildren: Misty Mayo, Heather Mayo, Stephanie Plemons and Chad Plemons; great grandchildren: McKayla Mayo, Noah Prestage and Bently Prestage.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 6-8pm with a service to begin at 7pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland. Graveside service will be 2pm on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Sulpher Springs, TX.

  1. To the Family. SO sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Merlon has the prospect of being resurrected (in the flesh) to Paradise Earth as God has promised. The vast majority will have everlasting life here on earth. God’s Kingdom will do this under the Rulership of Jesus Christ. READ John 5:28, 29, Job 14:14, 15 and Revelation 21:2-4
