Naida Marie Blanar

Naida Marie Blanar, 97, a resident of Pearland, Texas went peacefully to be with Our Lord on April 22, 2024. Naida was born on January 25, 1927, in Victoria, Texas to parents, Louis Heibel and Amelia Marie (Reuter) Heibel.

Naida was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was a skilled seamstress and made all her children’s clothing. Naida loved gardening and grew her own vegetables. She was an amazing cook and loved making fresh bread weekly. Naida adored traveling and visited many places, including Canada, Europe, and countless American states, Wyoming being her favorite destination.

Naida was a devout traditional Catholic and a faithful member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas for 46 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert G. Blanar; sisters, Helen White and Lucille Rogers and brothers, Clarence Heibel and Rawley Heibel.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Helen Denise Voelkel, Vanessa Marie Abbey (husband John) and Renee Elaine Presa; grandchildren, Andrew Voelkel, Mary Voelkel, Damian Voelkel, Theresa Sestak (husband Eric), Nathan Abbey (wife Kellie), Christopher Abbey, Sergio Presa, Jr., James Presa and Cecilia Presa and great-grandchild, Ethan Abbey. She also leaves behind loving nieces and nephews.

In her honor there will be a visitation on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas with a rosary at 7:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, also in Dickinson, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Andrew Voelkel, Damian Voelkel, Nathan Abbey, Christopher Abbey, Sergio Presa, Jr. and John Abbey.  Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Abbey and James Presa.

In lieu of flowers, Naida requested that donations be made to Queen of Angels Academy in Dickinson, Texas.

    Naida was such a dear friend and a joy to be around. She was so kind and remained faithful to Our Lord even in difficult times. My prayers are with all of you during this sad time. I know you will have comfort in the mercy of God and the assurance that he will reward her faithfulness. You will feel her close to you and you will know she can now intercede with Our Lord for your intentions. May Our Lord bless you all.
