Wilma Daphene Partain

Wilma Daphene Partain, 95, formerly of La Marque, passed away on Saturday, May 24th in Webster.  Daphene was born on December 2, 1929, in Arp, Texas, to William and Gladys Yancy.

Daphene was a lifetime learner. She obtained a BS in General Business from East Texas Baptist University in 1952, and a master’s degree from University of Houston at Clear Lake City. She was proud that her children and grandchildren obtained their college degrees.  Daphene was a retired instructor from College of the Mainland and was a member of Highlands Baptist Church.

Daphene was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ivey Manuel Partain, her parents, brother Gaston, sister Maxine, and youngest son Bryce Nevin Partain.

She is survived by her daughter, Tauna Partain Ready (Don Ready) of Houston; two sons, Bruce Partain (Lynn) of Beaumont and Nathan Partain (Kris) of Carmel, Indiana; six grandchildren, including Nevin Partain, Matthew Partain, Turner Partain, Mark Partain, William Partain and Madeline Partain; eight. great grandchildren Nevin, Gracelyn, William, Claire, John (Jack), Alice, Britton and Evelyn.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 29.  2025 at James Crowder Funeral Home in League City.   Services will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home with the Reverend Tara Thompson officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
