It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Valrie O. Gordy Jr. on November 30, 2025, who left this world peacefully at the age of 92, surrounded by his chosen family.

Val lived a life defined by service, integrity, and an unmistakable wit. A proud U.S. Veteran and dedicated member of the Army and the Air Force. He continued his commitment to protecting others as a member of the Sheriff’s mounted patrol and later as a detective.

His sharp mind, dry humor, and steady presence made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though he has left us, Val’s legacy of courage, and perfectly timed one-liners will continue to live on in the stories we share and the memories we hold close.

May he rest in peace and may those who loved him find comfort in knowing his final moments were filled with peace and love.
