Swarnalatha Silva

පින් කළ පුද්ගලයා මෙලොවත් සතුටුවෙයි, පරලොවත් සතුටුවෙයි, දෙලොවම සතුටුවෙයි!

Swarnalatha Silva passed away at the age of 85 on November 18th, 2021 at home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Swarna was born December 20th, 1935 in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. She grew up in Moratuwa and graduated from Princess of Wales- Moratuwa.

She married Lionel Silva on August 14th, 1959 and had five children. In 1985, she came to California with her family and opened up a daycare center for 12 years.

An incredibly loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandparent, and Friend, she brought joy and love to all people around her and made sure they were always fed. Throughout her life, Swarna has been a devoted supporter of well being of Buddhist Temples and helping the poor across the world.

Swarna was the daughter of the late D.P and Silina Dodangoda and the eldest of eight children: Sriya Sooriarachchi, the late Sarath Dodangoda, Prema Gamage, Ranjith Dodangoda, Ranjan Dodangoda, Mahendra Dodangoda, and Dhammika Karannagoda. Daughter-in-law of the late John & Harriet Silva. Sister-in-law of the late Senarath Sooriarachci, the late Vinitha Dodangoda, the late

Siri Gamage, Eromi Dodangoda, Harsha Karannagoda, and Mallika Silva. Mother of Dinithi, Dimuthu, Damith, Chandima, and Sampath. Mother-in-law of Shantha, Indralal, Ayomi, Ayanthi, and Rasika. Grandparent to Yasith, Isuru, Sandali, Sayuri, Kamila, Nisandi, Kirula, Ransith, Mayuca, Upuli, Tharushi, Piumi, Tehan, and Minuc. Relative of Shantha, Chama, and Emalki Gamage. Second mother to Dilshan and Mayumi Manawadu.

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19th, 2021 at 111 E. Medical Ct. Blvd, Webster from 3-5pm. The viewing will be held from 2-3pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to charity here: https://gofund.me/9f6c6b90
