Stephen Davis Defoore
Stephen Davis Defoore, affectionately known as Steve, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the age of 63. A resident of Texas City, Texas, Steve was born on April 17, 1963, to Linda and Eugene Defoore in Galveston, Texas.
Steve was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. For 39 years, he shared a life filled with love and memories with his beloved wife, Irina Anzaldua. Together they built a family that was the center of his world.
He is survived by his wife Irina Defoore; his son Matthew Defoore and Matthew’s significant other Crystal Morgan, his son Zachary Defoore and Zachary’s wife Hali Morgan; his brother Douglas Defoore and late wife Linda Defoore, Best friend of 50 years Larry Cox; his cherished grandchildren: Jayden, Kash, and Dakota. His family will forever treasure the love, guidance, laughter, and countless memories he gave them.
Steve dedicated 40 years of service to Bevis Pest Control, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to his customers and coworkers.
Outside of work, Steve embraced life’s simple pleasures. He loved attending rock concerts, cheering on the Houston Astros, Rockets and Texans, and spending sunny afternoons in his backyard grilling for family and friends. Whether sharing a meal, telling a story, or enjoying a ballgame, Steve had a way of making every gathering memorable.
Those who knew Steve will remember his sense of humor and the joy he brought to others. One of his favorite quotes, which never failed to bring a smile, was: “Big gulps, huh? Alright! Welp, see ya later.”
Steve’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched throughout his years. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a Memorial Service at 3:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, TX.

Irina I can’t begin to tell you how shocked and saddened I am to hear of Steve’s passing. Although we didn’t see each other much after my wedding, I will always remember him with fond memories of all the good and crazy times we shared in our younger days. May he rest in eternal peace. I’ll see him on the other side.
Tia Irina and cousins I’m deeply sorry for your losses, I pray God holds you during these difficult times, and of course all my other family as well.

*l remember carrying Stephen on my hip so much when he was little that people thought he was mine. On his fifth birthday, he was upset that he would have to change his name from D4 to D5. When he moved to Austin in his early twenties, he interviewed for a job and was so quiet that the interviewer asked him if he was shy. “No” he said. “I am just selective in who I talk to.” Of course he got the job. When his Dad was in the ICU, I found Stephen sitting next to Eugene just talking, even though his Dad was beyond responding. My love and prayers go out to Irina, the big boys, the little boys and Doug. Stephen’s quiet strength and deep love for his family will be forever remembered and profoundly missed. Fitting that there is a Rush concert in Fort Worth on Sunday. Stephen is “sailing to his destiny” and will forever be “closer to or hearts”.
I am saddened to hear of Steve passing away. Steve and I go way back from elementary thru High School and beyond. He was always a laid-back kind of guy. As I got into home inspections I could always count on Steve for back up when my clients requested termite inspections. He was that type of person. Willing to help whenever he could. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.

Irina, Tomy and I are so sad to hear of Steve’s passing. We loved hearing your family stories of him and Jayden when you worked at Gus’. We are praying for you and your family, and that God grants you serenity.
I was just a 10 year old when Stephen was born however I have a special memory of him. When Stephen started talking he called the turn signal on the car a
“doont-dah” as that was how it sounded to him. 🩷
