Sammie Howard Costello
Sammie Howard Costello, long time resident of San Leon, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Texas City at the age of 83. She was born on September 7, 1938 in Galveston, Texas to Samuel and Nannie Mae Howard.
Sammie was preceded in death by her son Robert Williams Sr., sister Diane Howard Ransom, first husband Charles Williams, second husband Tex Wayne Costello.
Sammie is survived by her daughter Debbie Jones and husband Les, son Wayne Costello, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, brother Henry Howard, wife Shirley and sister Phyllis Howard.
Private memorial will be held a later date.
Sammie was like a second mom to me. I can still remember her playing baseball in the front yard with us and she was as good as we were. Her laugh was contagious and her smile was beautiful. I will miss her but I know that she is in a better place now. My condolences to Wayne, Debbie and the rest of her family. I truly loved her and will never forget all the things she did for me in my younger years. Heaven just got a little brighter when Sammie arrived.
