Ryne Michael Cooper, 28, of Texas City, passed away on August 11, 2026. He was born on June 4, 1998 in Galveston, TX to Kimberly Morales and Michael Cooper. From an early age, Ryne was known for his outgoing personality and his willingness to jump in and do whatever anyone needed. There was never a dull moment with him around, yet he rarely got in trouble (according to his brother Riley).

Ryne attended Texas City High School where he played football and baseball, and was a member of the choir. Baseball was his favorite, and he was able to continue playing at Alvin Community College. He later coached a select team with Mainland Militia, where he was able to coach his cousin Jagger as well as many other young men. The impact he left on them will last their lifetime.

Professionally, Ryne dedicated the last 9 years to working as a lineman. He spent eight years with Texas-New Mexico Power and most recently worked with Power Contracting. Ryne took great pride in his work and in being able to provide for his family. He was a favorite among his coworkers.

But more than anything, Ryne valued the life he had built with his family. He was devoted to his wife, Macy, his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life. They were together for more than 14 years—more than half of their lives—and built a beautiful life together. From the moment he met Macy in 8th grade, he was hooked. He was the proudest father to his two sons, Reed, 2, and Rory, 9 months. His boys were his whole world. He loved playing with them in the yard and in the pool and teaching Reed how to throw a baseball (but not in the house). He especially loved singing with them and saying their prayers together at bedtime.

Ryne worked hard and played even harder. He especially enjoyed hanging out in the river, being outdoors, being on a cookoff team with his best friends, volunteering with the Texas City Jaycees and watching the Longhorns beat the Aggies. He’ll be remembered for his quick wit, his ability to light up a room, and his immense kindness. He was a giant teddy bear with a heart of gold. He was able to fix anything and never met a stranger.

Ryne is survived by his wife, Macy; his sons, Reed and Rory; his parents, Kim Morales, Michael Cooper, George and Libby Faust and Melissa Cooper; siblings Riley (Kelsie and Levi), Michaela and Mikenzie, Marshall (Kadie and baby girl), and Melanie; grandparents JoAnn Mahoney, Richard and Kathy Cooper; in-laws Leland and Gina Surovik; Cousins Lyndsey (Kelly, Kaileigh and Payton) and Jagger, as well as many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by Vicente and Dolores Gongora, Thomas L Mahoney, and his beloved bloodhound Sissy.

Ryne’s family would like to thank First Baptist Church of Texas City for the generous use of their facilities, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 66, and so many others for the love and support during this difficult time.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Texas City on Saturday, August 15, 2026. There will be a remembrance gathering prior to the Memorial Service starting at 3:00 PM.

Ryne’s memory will live on through the family he loved so deeply, the friends whose lives he touched, and the many memories he leaves behind.
