Ruby Rudene “Deano” Toland Fowler

Ruby Rudene “Deano” Toland Fowler was welcomed home to the Lord on November 29, 2018 from Kemah, Texas at the age of 93. Rudene was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother who provided life wisdom and joy to all and easily made friends anywhere she went.

Rudene Toland was born March 5, 1925, in Wayland, TX.  She is predeceased by her parents Mary and Edgar Toland, her brother Arland Jay Toland, and her son Malcolm Reginald Fowler.  Left to celebrate her memory are her brother Garland Ray Toland (Jan) of Woodland, California, daughter Susan Morrow of Webster, Texas and daughter-in-law Patricia Fowler of Baytown, Texas.  Her grandchildren are David Morrow (Jennifer), Lee Ann Johnson (Jim), William Fowler (Lee), Lisa Waxman (Barry). Her great-grandchildren are Tyler Morrow, Carter Morrow, Mandi Johnson, Krystin Warren, and Brooke Fowler.  She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Rudene lived in California may years working in the banking industry, working her way up from Receptionist, Bank Teller, Loan Officer, and finally Vice President.  She served with many professional organizations as a Board Member of the following organizations; San Fernando Valley Association, Board of Governors, Institute of Financial Education, Glendale College Advisory Board, Los Angeles Valley College, Burbank Business & Professional Women’s Organization, and Jess Ranch in Apple Valley.

Rudene was a member of the Bay Harbor United Methodist Church and longtime resident of the Lake Haven Senior Community and enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of many.  The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation for Pastor Denzil Dodds, Pastor Paul Clines, and Clear Lake Hospital 6th floor Heart Tower staff for their remarkable loving care of Rudene in her last days.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Texas.
