Robert Elwyn Goodwin Jr.

Robert Elwyn Goodwin Jr., was born to and preceded in death by Robert and Mary Sue Goodwin in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 26, 1939. Bob went to be with his Lord and Savior in His Kingdom on January 27, 2020.
An alumnus of Auburn University he graduated with an electrical engineering degree. Bob moved his family to Clear Lake City where he began his exemplary tenure as an agent with State Farm Insurance in 1977. He distinguished himself over his 40+ years of service as a recipient of the Crystal of Excellence and Chairman’s Circle awards.
Bob’s contributions to his community include countless hours of coaching youth sports and volunteer work, as well as philanthropic endeavors.
He was an active member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, and he and his wife Sue Ann became members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
Bob is survived by: his loving wife, Sue Ann; his brother, Gary Goodwin and wife, Carole; his son, Chris Goodwin and wife, Anne Marie; his, son Todd Goodwin and wife, Sara; his daughter, Jennifer Higgins; his daughter, Michelle Marrs and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Elizabeth Goodwin, Grace Goodwin, William Goodwin, Holden Adams, Christopher Adams, Jack Higgins, Sam Higgins, Candice Stiver and husband, Travis; and two great grandchildren Charli Stiver and Micah Stiver.
On Thursday, January 30, 2020 a Visitation will be held from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a Vigil and Rosary at 7:00 pm at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 3131 El Dorado Boulevard, Houston. Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 31, at 10:30 am, at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Freeway, Dickinson. All are invited to a reception following services at Bay Oaks Country Club, 14545 Bay Oaks Boulevard, Houston, from 2:30-4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church.
