Robert “Bob” Joseph Hendershot
Robert “Bob” Joseph Hendershot, 65, passed away on October 11, 2026. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in Germantown, New York, Bob grew up with a strong sense of independence and curiosity. After graduating from Germantown Central High School, he attended the University of Houston and eventually made Texas his home, living in League City for many years before settling in Pearland.
Bob was a self-starter with a remarkable work ethic. He approached life with determination and grit and took pride in figuring things out for himself. Over the years, he worked as a commercial truck driver, built multiple small businesses from the ground up, and became known among friends and family as someone who could repair anything with an engine.
He loved sports and followed the Astros, Rockets, Cowboys, and Texans faithfully. His passion for cars led him to race for a time and to join a local racing team, where he served as a trusted mechanic and crew member. Bob’s loyalty, resourcefulness, and straightforward nature made him someone people relied on and remembered.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruth Hendershot.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Hendershot; his brother, Walter S. Hendershot, Jr. (Valarie); and his sister, Marjorie Seiter (Fred). He is also survived by one niece and four nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob’s memory to the American Heart Association.
