Perry Phillip “Phil” Stevenson

stevenson. p picPerry Phillip “Phil” Stevenson, 62, of Santa Fe passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at home. He was born August 2, 1952 to Marshall and Sal Stevenson in Kosciusko, MS.
Phil graduated from La Marque High School in 1970 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Diesel Mechanics from Lamar University. He was a retired Union bricklayer. Phil loved fishing and the outdoors, good food, good music, cold beer and his cat Waylon (who would have ever thought it?). He was a committed husband and father and was the best Paw Paw in the world to his grandchildren.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sally; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Scott Carpenter; stepson Robert Hathway; grandchildren Zachary and Abigail Carpenter; brother Ron and wife Melissa Stevenson; sister Reda and husband Danny Lea; niece Tressa Shepard and her family; nephew Cody Lea and his family and many other beloved kinfolk.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.

  2. Although I never knew Phil as well as I did Ronnie I always thought of him as a good ole guy. He was always super nice to me and I am truly sorry to hear of his passing. When I hear about someone from our group…our group being LMHS…my mind is flooded with so many memories —all of them funny.
    My thoughts and prayers are with Ronnie and the entire Stevenson family and I only wish them happiness for years to come.
    Phil you are missed now and you always will be.

  3. smimboarding on bluebonnet is coming to mind. behind their cushman motorcycle. 66 ford with a hang ten foot (gas pedal) 4th of july at his property. hang on to the memories reda and ron. oh croquet (sp) in the back yard too. prayers for all.

  4. Sally, Not sure if you remember us, but it is John & Patty Allen.
    We were Phil’s neighbors in Bayou Vista. John & Phil were fishing buddies.
    So sorry to hear of Phil’s passing. It has been many years since we
    last saw Phil. But we have many fond memories & I am sure I could
    find pictures of their fishing days. I remember Robbie as a little boy.
    Please know that we will be keeping you in our prayers.
