Mikel Andrew Valdez

Mikel Andrew Valdez, 61, passed away on August 17, 2021 in Angleton, Texas.  He was born on November 20, 1959 in Wharton, Texas to Mike and Susie Valdez.  Mikel is survived by: his wife, Deborah Valdez; daughters, Michelle Valdez and Susan Gonzales (Michael); sister, Monica Burch; brothers, Vincent Valdez (Cindy), Joe Valdez (Sonia) and Jesse Valdez (Veronica); grandchild, Stella Marie Gonzales. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved grandson, Joseph Andrew Gonzales.  

Mikel was a devoted employee of 42 years as a Process Technician for SI Group of Freeport, Texas.  He was a true believer in “work hard, play hard.”  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gambling, and motorcycle rides, but most of all: spending time with family and friends.  

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598.  The funeral service will be on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 3131 El Dorado Blvd., Houston, Texas 77059.  Burial and reception will follow.   

Pallbearers – Vincent Valdez, Joe Valdez, Jesse Valdez, Anthony Valdez, Jesse Valdez Jr., Kevin Valdez, Julian Valdez and Brandon Valdez.

  5. My sincerest condolences to the entire family. May God give you peace during this difficult time. Mikel aka “Thick” “ Fo mo” will be missed greatly. He was always a joy to be around. There was never a dull moment. I’m BLESSED that I was able to experience so many memories with him. I’m heartbroken that his time with us,here on earth was cut short, but know his legacy will live on. He is now an angel watching over his loved ones.

  6. We miss you Dad beyond measure. I truly hope you are at peace in heavenly bliss, this is the only thing that gives me comfort. Missing that laugh and all the funny jokes. You showed me how to enjoy life and we´re all trying to learn how to live without you. Love you so very much. Keeping your memories alive, telling your jokes, remembering your voice.
