Mike was a U.S. Air Force veteran, worked out of Local Union 517 for several years and was a long-time NASA contractor/manager. He has spent many years as a volunteer youth soccer coach, touching many young lives along the way. He was a colleague, a mentor, a friend, and a loving husband and father. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Mike made many friends in life. He loved spending time with his family and really enjoyed family gatherings. Mike was a good spirited man, whose faith in the Lord grew even stronger in the last few years of his life. He was a man who rarely angered, who comforted those who were hurting, and was always there for those around him.
Mike is preceded in death by sister Pamela Sue Mitchell; half brother Douglas Bright; and Step Mother Wanda Bright.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sherri Hines Bright; son Jared Bright; daughter Eryn Bright; mother Betty Swope; father Douglas Bright; sister Carol Surrock and husband Les Surrock; half sister Lisa Callaway and husband Reid Callaway; half sister Cathy Wesley and husband Hal Wesley; and In-laws Earlis and Millie Hines; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Callie.
