Michael David Plowman

Michael David Plowman, 62, of La Marque passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 in Clear Lake, Texas. He was born on December 19, 1954 to Joe and Marcia Plowman in Galveston, Texas. Mike was employed with Lipton Tea and Anheuser –Busch for many years.  He was known for his extreme welding and fabrication skills. Mike was very creative; he was able to design and build anything he put his mind to. He was the proud owner of a shrimp boat, “Shirley B Shrimpin”, located in Galveston, Texas.  He loved shrimping and had many fun adventures on his boat.

Mike was an avid race car driver for many years. Racing was his passion and he was excellent! In his latter years he was better known as “Plow #51”.  His favorite saying was “Its Ok To Be Fast!” And he definitely was.  Mike designed and built several race cars over the years. He will be greatly missed by all his family and many, many wonderful friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother Marcia Werblow. Mike is survived by his father and step-mother; Joe and Emma Plowman, stepfather; Bill Werblow, wife of 11 years; Gina Plowman, daughter; Michaela Plowman and son; Blake Plowman, step-children; Danielle Pattison, Samuel Garcia, Ceciley Garcia and Gabriel Garcia, grandchildren; Dylan Marquez, Presley Plowman, Hailee Pattison and Colin Pattison, sister; Barbara Miles, brother; Keith Plowman and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff at Clear Lake Regional Hospital, for the excellent care given to Mike, and to Beverly Plowman, for helping care for Mike in his last months.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 starting at 10:00am at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in La Marque, with Fr. Bob Moore officiating.
