Mark Edward Connelly

Mark Edward Connelly, 82, of Pearland, TX passed away, surrounded by family, at his home on October 26, 2017.  Dr. Connelly was born June 05, 1935 in Franklin, PA to Thomas and Mary Connelly.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict and later retired with more than 25 years of service as a Colonel in the Dental Corps.  Dr. Connelly taught at University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch.  He is a member of St Helen Catholic Church and has been a resident of Pearland since 1989.  Dr. Connelly enjoyed volunteering at the San Jose Clinic as well as several other organizations.

Dr. Connelly is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Connelly and his brother James B. Connelly.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 56 years, Julia Valitski Connelly; daughters: Casey Ann Connelly and Kara Connelly Flores, husband Louis; sons: Thomas William Connelly, wife Amy, Stephen Meade Connelly and Mark Gregory Connelly; sister, Judy Connelly Flynn, husband Jack; sister-in-law Diana Connelly; grandchildren Michelle Clark, husband Steven, Nicholas Flores, wife Heather, Alexander Flores, wife Ashley and Anisa  Flores; great grandchildren Alexis Clark, Liam Flores and Kiley Flores.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Crowder Funeral Home 2422 Broadway Pearland, TX 77581 with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.  A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 01, 2017 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland followed by the entombment of ashes at Houston National Cemetery.

  1. The St. Thomas High Class of ’53 wish to express our sorrow to the family of Dr. Connelly, he shall be missed by all his fellow classmates. Mark will be remembered at all our Quarterly Luncheons in our prayers for deceased classmates. May his soul rest in peace.
