Marianne Elizabeth van Leeuwen (85) of Texas City, Texas (formerly of Seabrook,
Texas), passed away at her home on June 2, 2025. She was born in Möllmicke,
Germany, on January 13, 1940, to Hubert and Marta Niclas. She enjoyed her work
as a waitress, a seamstress, and an RN & LVN. She also loved her grandchildren
and her “adopted” grandchildren (all 25 in the extended family 🙂). One of her
favorite projects was to make beautiful gingerbread houses at Christmastime for all
the grandkids and was well-known in the community for giving the houses to
friends and neighbors as gifts.

Marianne is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Detlev van
Leeuwen; her son, David Jean-Paul van Leeuwen; three brothers: Töne Niclas,
Reinhardt Niclas, and Manfred Niclas; and her grandson, Jason Fosdick. She is
survived by her daughter, Claudia Fosdick; her son-in-law, Curtis Fosdick; and her
grandson, Evan Fosdick.

Per Marianne’s wishes, she will be cremated. No service will be held at this time.
