Makiko Kato Kaluza, 95, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on September 24th, 2026. Makiko was born on January 9th, 1931, in Yokohama, Japan, to Manji Kato and Masauo Kondo. Makiko was a long-time resident of Pearland, Texas, after moving from Victoria in 1993.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alexander
Kaluza, and her parents, Manji Kato and Masauo Kondo.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ross, and her husband Michael; her grandchildren, Bryan Ross and his wife Michelle, and Melissa Powell and her husband, Cameron Powell. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Brayden Ross, Camden Ross, and Brynnleigh Ross.
