Luis Higinio Carranza, Sr.
Luis Higinio Carranza, Sr., of Houston, Texas, passed away on December 20th, 2025. Luis was born on June 23rd, 1935, in Laredo, Texas, to Eduvijes and Jose L. Carranza. He was a mechanic in the automotive industry for over thirty years and a resident of Houston, Texas for over seventy years. Luis was also a draftsman, carpenter, fisherman, sportsman, and a cofounder of Fair Game International, inventor of the Enticer. A man of many talents.
Luis is preceded in death by his spouse, Clara Carranza; parents, Eduvijes and Jose L. Carranza; his son, Thomas Carranza; and his brother, David Carranza.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Jean Pitts; his sons, Luis, Jose, Mark, and Christopher Carranza; his sister, Yolanda Valle; and his brothers, Jose and Daniel Carranza. Luis is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
There will be a Visitation on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Crowder Funeral Home, located at 2422 E. Broadway St., Pearland, Texas 77581 at 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 6:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church located at 18223 Point Lookout Dr, Houston, Texas 77058 at 12:30 A.M. with a burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, TX.
Pallbearers serving will be Samuel Carranza, Christopher Carranza, Andrew Carranza, Luis Carranza, William Pitts, Alex Pitts, and Michael Pitts. Honorary pallbearers serving are Raymond Sanchez and Lupe Sanchez.
