Louise Perry

perry croppedLouise Perry, age 101, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 surrounded by family. She was born in Nacogdoches, TX on April 16, 1914. She and her husband Joe L Perry moved to Galveston, TX in 1947. Louise retired as a nurse from St. Mary’s Hospital after 33 years of service. She is of Catholic faith and was a member of the Alter Society. Her love of her family and friends was undeniable. She was preceded in death by her parents Mitch & Victoria Cortines; husband, Joe L Perry; sisters, Mary Y’Barbo, Della Luna, Ruby King, Dora Young, Laura Pena; brothers, Tony Cortines, Lee Cortines, Johnny Cortines. She is survived by her daughter Iva Nell Mouton and husband Nathan Mouton of La Marque. Grandchildren, Sylvia & Bruce Mason, Carla & Steve Werner, Vivian & Richard Tomlinson, Michael Mouton, Ricky Mouton. Great grandchildren, Alexis Tomlinson and Sara Tomlinson. Nieces and nephews. A Special “Thank You” from the family is extended to granddaughter, Carla Werner, for dedicating the last 15 years to the caring of “The Oldest and Wisest”, Louise Perry! Also, gratitude to the staff at Mainland Center Hospital and Dr. David Nickeson, Dr. Jose Cantu and Dr. Gary Spangler for their special care. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.; the service following at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1200 Cedar at Laurel, La Marque, TX. Burial at MT Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson, TX.
