Loretta B. Carmichael

Loretta B. Carmichael, 77, of Texas City passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas. She was born December 11, 1937 to Harry and Beatrice Maples in Galveston, Texas. Loretta was a lifelong resident of Galveston County. She was a worthy advisor to the Rainbow Girls; she enjoyed playing golf and loved to travel.
She is preceded in death by her father and her brother Edward Maples.
Loretta is survived by her mother Beatrice Maples, her husband of 56 years, Freddie J. Carmichael; daughter Joan Jones (Brian Gunzelman); sons Freddie Lee Carmichael (Bonnie) and Edward “Eddie” Carmichael; sister-in-law Kathy Maples; five grandchildren Kathryn Carmichael, Kacey Carmichael, Matthew Carmichael, Kandace Carmichael and Kristy Carmichael; special cousins Dottie and James Wooley and special friends Pat and Mac McDonald and Jerry and Linda Cooper.
A visitation will be on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice in her name.
