Linda J. Johnson

Linda J. Johnson, passed away after a long battle of cancer on April 24, 2017, Kemah, TX, at the age of 69.

She was born on June 22, 1947.  Born in Little Rock, AR to the parents of Oleta N. Johnson and Robert B. Johnson.

Linda loved spending time with her family and friends, going out to dinner, decorating, watching old movies, antique shopping, and there was a special place in her heart for animals.  Linda has rescued several cats and a few older dogs throughout her life, giving them a loving home until they passed.

She worked for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, was an administrator, supervisor, and retired in 2009.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; William Bridges of Little Rock, AR and Ray Bridges of Portland, OR, and her husband of 39 years Cecil. E. Johnson, III.

Linda is survived by her only child, Dr. L. Denise Johnson-Vaught, son-in-law, Albert G. Vaught, and three grandchildren Tristan, Ava Rose, and Abigail ages 9 and 7.  Linda is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Bridges, a niece, Lori Bridges-Drake, and two nephews, Scot Bridges and Greg Burks.

There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony for Linda, Saturday, July 8, 2017, 6pm at 503 Harborside Way, Kemah, Texas.

  2. Mrs.Linda Johnson was a wonderful lady & supervisor. When she left DFA I was sad to see her leave. She gave me a chance to work work with her. Linda was a fun loving caring woman. My heart is broken when I heard she passed away. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
