Kenna Beth Neel
Kenna Beth Neel was born on August 22, 1954 in Seguin, Texas and passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Neel (1990) and her nephews, Timothy Wiederhold (1993) and David Wiederhold (2017)
Kenna was the eldest daughter born to Kenneth and Mable (Freddie) Neel. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Murphey (Alan), grandson, Logan Murphey, her younger sisters, Susan Wiederhold (Randall) and Nancy Ferriegel (Dean), two nephews & numerous nieces & their families, to whom she told all their mothers’ secrets (much to their chagrin). Kenna also leaves behind several cousins & one uncle.
Kenna was the “easy” first child who made the rules and led her parents into having two more children who broke Kenna’s rules and tried her soul. She was the sister who gave Susie her first pair of designer jeans & a D&D board game. (Mom was not happy). She was the sister who taught Nancy to take up for herself and to laugh at herself. (Obviously, Nancy was her favorite sister, as she kept telling Susie she was adopted.)
Kenna was the sister who gave our parents their first granddaughter, cementing her position as “first one to…” She loved “cold case” files & true crime shows, anything on the History Channel and The Big Bang Theory. She loved Game of Thrones books and t.v. series.
She was an artist whose final medium was quilts & their design. As someone who didn’t believe in doing things by halves, her first quilt was a hand quilted, king size quilt. She dabbled in other artistic mediums in her life, paint, chalk, pencil, and weaving, but quilting and design was her true love.

Your sense of humor will be greatly missed but I’m so glad you passed it on to your sisters! I have so many wonderful memories with you that I will always cherish. I’m glad you will have our sweet pups in heaven to play with. I know they were there to greet you because they loved you so much. Rest in peace Kenny – love “fud” & “dub”
