Kathryn Su Gehbauer
Kathryn Su Gehbauer, 87, went home to the Lord on July 31, 2026. She was born in Wheeler County, Texas to J.V. & Verona Younger on July 24, 1939. The family soon moved to Sweetwater, Texas where she spent most of her childhood.
Kathryn graduated from The University of Houston and briefly worked for a local television station. She then chose to become a homemaker and raise her two sons Gary & Keith. Once back in the workforce she supported a variety of companies with her marketing skills.
She was passionate towards her alma mater and made it to as many U of H Cougar football games as she could. Kathryn was also a huge Houston Astros fan and rarely missed a game on T.V.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Gary Gehbauer and fiancé Griselda; her son Keith Gehbauer and wife, Sharon; her grandchildren Kelsey Patterson and husband, Cade; Eric Hall, Reed Gehbauer, and Emma Gehbauer; great grandchildren Kallen, Camden, and Colton Patterson; numerous extended family; and friends from her community.
On Friday, August 21, 2026, Kathryn’s family will greet guests from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd, Webster, Texas. This will be followed by a Reception at Las Brisas (501 N. Wesley Dr., League City, TX.) and a Private Burial.
The family encourages everyone to wear Houston Astros or U of H Cougar attire. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Nassau Bay Garden Club http://www.nassaubaygc.org/

I’m so sorry to hear of Kathryn’s passing. I will miss her and I’m thankful she was in my life. The more I got to know her, the more I loved her.

I am so very sorry about Kathryn’s passing. She was a very close friend and especially
close when we both lived in Nassau Bay. We were very active back then in the Nassau Bay Garden club. She was so very helpful when I was in charge of the first Nassau Bay Garden Club Style Show at Lakewood Yacht Club. She got her son to do all the staging and lights, he was terrific. We had a very professional Style Show. She was thrilled with the outcome as was I. I will miss her!
Kathryn
Kathryn (Kathy) was one of my best friends. We met in the
80’s when we all moved into the same subdivision of Forest Park in Littleton, CO. We were the only Texans as far as I know, and we hit it off right away. Our kids were friends. Kathys family moved back to the Houston area a couple of years before we did. When we moved back, we bought a home just a few blocks from their family. I did not tell Kathy we were moving back, and when I called to tell her we had bought a home just a few blocks from them, she was as happy as I was. We We moved to the Phoenix area in 2000, and Kathy came out to visit us several times over the years. I am going to miss her so much.
She was a very special lady. Keith and Gary, I am so sorry for your loss. May God give you and your families peace and comfort. Maureen
