Justin John Sessum
Justin John Sessum, 43, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, in Seabrook, Texas. He was born on August 18, 1982, in Webster, Texas, to Robert Lester Sessum and Diann Fern Sessum.
Justin is survived by his mother Diann; brothers Ryan Sessum and Jared Sessum; his beloved niece, Reagan Sessum, who held a special place in his heart; his sister-in-law, Jennifer Sessum; and numerous extended family members and friends who loved him dearly. His City Rise Church family also held a special place in his heart, and he was deeply grateful for the friendships and purpose he found there. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sessum; his brother, Bret Sessum; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Justin earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston and dedicated his career as an Audio/Visual Technician at City Rise Church. He had a true passion for helping others and serving the Lord, faithfully living out that calling each day through both his work and his personal life. Justin was known for his unwavering kindness, his generous spirit, his love for all things Pittsburgh, and his deep devotion to his family. Above all, he treasured every moment spent with his niece, Reagan, bringing joy, laughter, and unconditional love to her life.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 11:00 a.m. at City Rise Church – West University Campus, 6218 Auden Street, Houston, Texas 77005. A Reception will immediately follow the service at the church, with Interment afterward at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Justin’s memory may make a donation to City Rise Church Pathways, 6218 Auden Street, Houston, Texas 77005.
Justin’s legacy of kindness, faith, generosity, and love for others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him
Justin meant the world to the Moses family. What started as my son Isaac needing service hours started volunteering in the AV booth at church, developed into his most cherished friendship. Anyone that can make my son smile grew in the hearts of the whole family. The support of coming to football games, text before a big test or what show are we watching next together can never be replaced. Praying for your comfort as Justin is so missed by many people.

Justin was always helpful in repeating instructions to me so that I could get the sound system to perform at 6:30am for a men’s Bible study. Always a smile on his face. Justin will be missed.
Justin’s character was shown to me last year when he graciously and unselfishly helped coordinate a collage of photos and music for my wife’s celebration of life. He was a humble man and will be remembered.
There is a lesson to learn from Justin’s life and that is that he lived a servant’s life as commanded by Christ.
As quoted by his pastor at Justin’s memorial , Jesus said, “And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, ‘If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.’ ” Mark 9:35
How that contrasts with the world’s philosophy of becoming great in the eyes of our peers by attaining notoriety for our accomplishments.
As attested to by so many, Justin was loved not by his accomplishments but by his servant’s heart. He exemplified Christ’s command and was an example of a life lived for others.
Justin will have his reward by being first in the kingdom of heaven.
