Judith “Judy” Marie Conrad (Abadie)

Judith Abadie Conrad, 79, of New Orleans, LA peacefully joined her beloved husband Stanley W. Conrad in heaven on Friday, November 6th, 2015.  Judy was born on May 30th, 1936 to Eunice and Roger Abadie of New Orleans, LA.  She graduated from Fortier High School in 1953 and from Loyola University in 1957.  During her life she was a medical technologist, a seafood store owner, and a health inspector for the State of Louisiana.  She was a loving wife and mother and had a passion for music and the arts.  Judy enjoyed sewing and was devoted to the Catholic Church, living a simple life like Jesus Christ.  She was an Eucharistic Minister, taught Catholic education classes, and attended daily mass and perpetual adoration.  She enjoyed travel especially trips to Medjugorje and the Holy Land.  She spent most of her life in Louisiana in New Orleans, Larose, and Slidell, but spent the last 10 years in Houston, Texas following Hurricane Katrina.  Judy is survived by her three children, Steven Klein of New Orleans, LA (wife Helen), Joy King of Houston, TX (husband Steve), and Karen Huff of Malabar, FL (husband Jim); her sister Myrna Abadie Gorman of Metairie, LA (husband Joe) and brother Roger Abadie Jr. of Mandeville, LA (wife Pat); five grandchildren Sarah Melcher, Conrad Melcher, Nicholas Melcher, Alexander King, and Amelia King, and a host of family members and friends.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18223 Point Lookout Drive, Nassau Bay, TX on Thursday, November 12th at 10 am.  She will be buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 12911 E. Main St., Larose, LA on Saturday, November 14th at 10 am following Mass.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Judy’s memory may do so with mass preferred or to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org.
