Joseph William Pierce III

Joseph William Pierce III, 78, passed away on November 22, 2025 in Houston, TX. He was born on September 10, 1947 in Corpus Christi, TX, to Joseph M. Pierce and Adeline Horne. Joseph William Pierce III is survived by: his wife, Greta Franco Pierce; daughter, Martha Delpilar Garcia; and numerous family members and friends.

When his nation called he answered by joining the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard. He earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice police science from Florida International University. Joseph William Pierce III Served 16 years for the City of Miami Police. He then worked another 10 years for Texas DPS Motor Vehicles Inspections, retiring at the age of 70. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Coast Guard Chief in the City of Miami for about 25 years. He resides with his wife and step-daughter. He had a passion for catching criminals, helping animals, watching movies, his dogs, cars, he was a people person there for others, and loved all animals. He didn’t care about money, he loved his family, and was always there for them.

A memorial will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Viewing from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, and service at 2:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E Medical Center Blvd, Webster, Tx 77598.

  6. I served with Joe on The Miami Police Department during his tenure with us. He was a great friend, police officer and person. I remember his quietness, politeness, and a constant grin that looked as if he knew something the rest of the world didn’t.
