Jose Alfonso Carmona, Sr.

Jose Alfonso Carmona, Sr. 78, resident of Dickinson, Texas, passed from this life, Wednesday, September 27, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Jose was born September 18, 1945 to proud parents, Trinidad and Otilia Carmona in Galveston, Texas.

He grew up in Galveston County where he met and married the love of his life Rachel L. Leyva and from this union was blessed with four children, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. His working career was spent as a chief operator with Dow – Texas City, Texas. Jose was a member of The Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church, as well as a member of Knights of Columbus.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, and son Marc Carmona, sister, Rachel Carmona Hernandez, brothers, Salvador Carmona, Frank Carmona, Jesse Carmona, Trinidad Alfonso Carmona, John Carmona and Xavier Carmona.

He leaves behind to cherish his lifetime of memories, beloved wife, Rachel Carmona; daughter, Monica Carmona Cavazos; sons, Jose Carmona, Jr., and Richard Carmona and wife Misha; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

In his honor a visitation will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 6:00 to 7:00pm, with a rosary at 7:00pm at True Cross Catholic Church, Dickinson..  A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023, 10:30am at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Dickinson, Texas. Interment following immediately at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
