John Scott Harlan, 63, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on September 9th, 2026. John was born May 25th, 1963 in Richmond, Texas John was a proud girl’s dad to his daughter, Kelsey and his dogs. He loved his family, friends and his church. He was kind and generous and was always there to offer to help when he could. He was proud to be the parts manager at BMW of Clear Lake for seventeen years, getting his start in the car business with his grandfather, as a young boy. He attended Nassau Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Norman James Scott, Jr, his grandmother, Janie Lee Glover Scott and his uncle, Norman James “Butch” Scott, III.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Denise Harlan, his daughter, Kelsey Harlan, his mother, Janie Moon. His brothers, Dennis Harlan and Larry Lyman
(Courtney).

Service times and date to be determined soon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Harlan, Norman “Scotty” Scott, David Trice, Ken Garrison and Larry Lyman.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Three Little Pitties Rescue in John’s name.
