John Ramos Nava

Nava, JohnJohn Ramos Nava passed away 06/11/14 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Galveston to Lucio and Tomasa Nava. Proud to be a BOI (Born on the Island ), he attended the Island schools Kindergarten through Ball High School where he met many lifelong friends.
He worked from an early age delivering newspapers. He also worked as a gas station attendant for a service station at Broadway and Seawall, an appliance repair man for Sears. He also worked for Amoco Chemical, BP and Ienos as a plant operator. He retired from BP with 28 years of service.
John is survived by his loving wife Belinda Nava; cherished mother Tomasa Nava and his devoted children: Raymond Nava, Manuel Nava, JJ Nava, Jaime Nava, and Wife Sarah, Yvonne Nava, Victoria Nava and Alexandria Nava. He is also survived by his sisters, numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, nephews, eleven grandchildren and two great grand children. He is preceded in death by his Father Lucio Nava and Brother Ben Nava.
John loved to travel with his family taking them to see wondrous sites like the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forrest, Yellowstone Park and the Redwood Forest to name a few. He loved to drive and to do anything with cars, trucks and motorcycles. He planned vacations around car shows and motorcycle rallies. He also spent hours putting together CDs of his favorite music to entertain the family on the trips.
John never met a stranger, always quick with a joke or a story. He will be sadly missed by all.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Nurse at UTMB 9A and 2A ICU, and Kindred Clear Lake.
A visitation in his honor will be held Sunday, June 15, 2014, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm, Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 16, 2014, 3:00 pm, Crowder Funeral Home, Dickinson, TX.
In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association or Diabetes Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
