Jo Anne passed peacefully on November 1, All Saints Days, in her home with all five of her children by her bedside.  She was dearly loved by all.

 

Jo Anne was preceded in death by her parents Mary Winifred Cunneen and Walter Charles Sommer, her brother Paul Sommer and ex husband, Ward Rueb.

 

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.   She is survived by her five children, Karen Rueb-Hall, Debra Rueb, Jan Rueb, Gregory Rueb and Jill Rueb-Tupa; their spouses David Hall, Clint Boelsche and James Tupa; her five grandchildren Caleb Flanagan, Elissa Gibbons, Cecily Hall, Dustin Hall, and Joselyn Tupa; and her great granddaughter Summer Gibbons; her two brothers, Robert Sommer and Francis Sommer.

 

She was born at home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 5, 1931.  She moved to Houston, Texas in August of 1970 with her husband, Ward Rueb, and five children and developed many relationships over the 45 years she lived in the Clear Lake area.  Jo Anne had a successful career working in law firms and retired from Rockwell International in Support Systems Operations.

 

She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, water aerobics and was an avid newspaper reader.  She was passionate about following the Houston Rockets, Texans and Astros and loved spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed entertaining, attending broadway shows in downtown Houston, and eating out with her long time friend and companion Bill Ross.

    Your mother was a Kind and gracious person. I remember the sweet conversations we have had throughout the years. She adored her family and was so proud of all of your accomplishments.   2. Jo Anne was a kind, generous person with a beautiful soul. Jo Anne was like a breath of fresh air and, she always lifted the spirits of those around her. She was also fun. My husband Rob and I had the great privilege to call her a friend and are grateful for having known her. We wish you peace and happy memories.
