Jimmie Lee Scott
Jimmie Lee Scott was born on December 15, 1944, in Taylor, Louisiana, to J.D. Scott and Maggie Mae Scott. He departed this life on July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family he cherished so deeply.
Jimmie was united in marriage to Judy Mayfield-Scott in 1992. They shared thirty-four years of love, laughter, and partnership, making their home in Friendswood, Texas. Together, they were devoted members of Bethel Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, where their faith has remained a steady anchor throughout their lives.
Jimmie built a long and respected career with City Office Supply before joining Sysco Food Service, where he retired in 2015. He loved sports — coaching football and basketball, cheering on his teams, especially the Houston Texans! He enjoyed a good round of golf and a competitive card game. He was a devoted coin collector and an avid reader.
Above all, Jimmie loved his family, and he treasured the good times, good conversation, and lasting friendships he shared with DeClub Social and Charity Club.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Scott and Maggie Mae Scott; his brothers, Robert Scott, Joseph Scott, Donald Ray Scott; and his sister, Stella Galentine.
He leaves to cherish his loving wife of thirty-four years, Judy Mayfield-Scott of Friendswood, Texas; two daughters, Tracie White (Delon), Bridgett Curley (James) and Victor Bland. Seven stepchildren, Cassandra “Kaye” Anderson, Paula Bausley, Andrea Mayfield, Adonna Flenoy (Donald), Judy Jackson (Tracy), and Adam Mayfield II; one brother, David Scott; three sisters, Jessie Newsome, Barbara Allen, and Joyce Allen-Gilbert; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends — including his beloved DeClub family.
Rest well, Jimmie. Your love, your laughter, and your legacy live on in all of us.
