Jean Helen Jacobsen

Jean Helen Jacobsen, 84, of League City, Texas passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2025. Jean was born September 15, 1940, to Carl Emil Christian Jacobsen and Erna Emma Sophia Petersen in St. Charles Missouri.

She was a devoted and accomplished English teacher in Mexico City, whose passion for education left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students. Jean had a remarkable gift for teaching—her creativity lit up the classroom, and her kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was deeply respected, not only for her brilliance as an educator but for the warmth and generosity she showed in all corners of her life.

Jean lived with purpose. She dedicated herself to ensuring that every one of her children and grandchildren had access to an education, believing fiercely that learning was the greatest gift she could pass on. She carried a quiet strength and an unshakable resolve. She was a fighter—a never-surrender soul who faced life’s challenges with courage and grace.

Her legacy is not just in the lessons she taught, but in the lives she inspired.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Carl, Eric and Floyd and her husband Jose Luis Hernandez Rojas.

She will be remembered as a loving, caring, devoted mother to her three beloved daughters, Carmen, Kirsten and Jackie and as a cherished grandmother to her four precious grandchildren: Ismael and his wife Amanda, Yasmin, Abraham and Sean and his beloved Hannah.

May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing for all that loved her and knew her.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
