James Patrick (Pat) Miller

Pat Miller of Clear Lake, Texas passed away in his sleep on Saturday September 29, 2018.  A Texas native, he was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 11, 1967 to parents Charles Robert (Bob) Miller and Kathryn Moseley Miller. His early childhood and school years were spent in Alice, Texas.  After graduation from Alice High School, Pat continued his education at Texas A&M University and graduated in 1990. He was a member of the A&M Pistol Team and trained at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.  Following graduation Pat began a 27-year career with State Farm Insurance in Corpus Christi and then in the Clear Lake area.  After graduating from A&M in 1990, Pat married Jan Guido in May 1993. Pat and Jan enjoyed many years together and had two children, Lauren and Ian. The family was very involved in school, athletic clubs and outdoor activities. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Pat also was a dedicated runner and triathlete. Over the years Pat completed a number of marathons and long-distance bike races, and in 2013 earned the title of “Ironman” following his completion of Ironman Florida.  In addition to his family, Pat is survived by his brother Bobby Miller and sister Beth Weakley, and their families.  Pat is also survived by his parents-in-law, John and Judy Guido, and brothers-in-law, David and Michael Guido, and their families.   Pat will be laid to rest on Friday morning October 5th in a private family ceremony.  A memorial service with family and friends will be held at 1:00pm on Friday October 5th at Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 16335 El Camino Real, Houston.   Condolences for the family maybe offered at www.crowderfuneralhome.com.  In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations in Pat’s memory to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation or your favorite charity.

  6. I will miss Patrick. We spent a lot of days bird hunting, fun times at the rifle range, and a lot of laughs growing up. His Dad would take us out many times to burn 22 ammo and we were always having fun when we were together. I can remember the sleep overs and all the laughs we had growing up. I wish that we had a little more time together. He was a special person that will be sorely missed. I can’t believe he is gone. And I have witnessed his pistol shooting and he was hard to beat. God Bless you Patrick and God Bless your family.

  13. Jan, Lauren and Ian, I am so sorry for your loss. Pat was a good friend and I’m grateful for the years we worked together. Right now I’m stunned and sad. But when I start thinking back through all the memories of those years, all the conversations, and yes some crazy antics we may or may not have instigated along the way, a grin comes across my face that develops into a chuckle. I will miss him. My prayers are with you and your family.
