James Patrick Dawson, of League City, Texas passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the age of 77. He was born on March 17, 1939 in San Antonio, TX. James is survived by his wife Joanna, brother David Dawson, his sons Phil Dawson and wife Renie, Mark Dawson and wife Estella, Michael Dawson and wife Nikki, stepchildren Webster Sharp and wife Jane, Don Sharp and wife LeAnne, Karen Meadows and husband Bo, grandchildren Brian, Matthew, Nikolas, Erin, Heather, Sheila, Cynthia, Kelli, Chris, Eden, Samantha, Kadie, and great grandchild Steven. James was a member of the League City Historical Society, an affiliate member of the Clear Creek Republican Women, and he was a Texas Master Naturalist. He was the Board Chairman from 1990-2010 for InvesTex Credit Union in Spring, Texas. He retired as Facilities Manager of the Lone Star College System. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 11, 2016 between 1-2pm at the League City United Methodist Church in League City, with a Ceremony following at 2:00pm at the League City United Methodist Church Sanctuary with Reverend Joel McMahon IV officiating. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in League City, on the banks of Clear Creek. In lieu of flowers, you may send memorials to the League City Garden Club or the LCUMC Building Fund.
