Jackie Roland Mackey
Jackie Roland Mackey, born 4/21/1932 to Mamie and James Mackey, passed away Sunday 9/28/2025 at the age of 93.
He was born in Wills Point TX, moved to Dickinson when he was 3 years old and lived in Dickinson for 90 years. He graduated from Dickinson High School and was on the Gators 1947 first District Championship football team. He served four years in the United States Air Force. He married his high school sweetheart, Florence Kelley on 4/20/51. Together they built a home, raised four children and were dedicated to their faith in the Lord. Jackie was a strong, smart man who worked hard all his life to support his family. He was a generous man and always willing to help family and neighbors. He built several homes, barns and beautiful pieces of furniture for family and his beloved wife. He retired from the mineral oil refinery company and Penreco (Dickinson) in 1992 after 42 years there and then from Mackey Mechanical in 2015 after 23 years.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Janice Stewart and his brother Jimmie Mackey.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Florence Mackey and his four children, Dana Martino, David Mackey (Mary), Michael (Diane) and Sherri (Mark). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 3rd 2025 at the Pine Drive Baptist Church, 705 FM 517, Dickinson TX with visitation at 9:00 – 10:00 o’clock and funeral service at 10:00 o’clock. Burial will follow service at Forest Park East 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster TX.

Mr Mackey will forever hold a special place in my heart. He was a beautiful example of a Godly man who loved his wife and children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was like a grandpa to my sons. Till we meet again Mr. Mackey, I’ll be singing and thinking of you. To God be the glory!
