Hilda was born November 23, 1929 to Julius and Hildur Karowski in Galveston, Texas and lived in Galveston, Texas City and La Marque all her life. Hilda was a loving wife, mother and nana who would do anything for her family. She will be remembered by all who met her as a sweet hearted Christian woman who loved God and her family above all else. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of over 50 years, Alvin Earl Rodefeld, who left us in 1998. Hilda is survived by her daughter Sherri Rodefeld; granddaughter Tiffany Clark and her husband Jason; granddaughter Kristal Dipuccio and her husband Derek; great granddaughters Addisen and Hailey Clark, Kamryn and Kelsey Dipuccio; and many extended family members and friends. She was a giver of her time, kindness and effort to so many in her lifetime until God in his goodness, determined it was time for her to leave us. He has brought her home to Himself and reunited her with her beloved Al. We will forever hold onto the precious memories of Hilda. Goodbye Mother, Nana, aunt, cousin and friend.

  1. My sympathies to the family and the staff at the Laurel House. I met Hilda through the ministries of Holy Trinity Church in Dickinson, Texas. I enjoyed her keen sense of humor and warmth. She loved talking about her late husband and how proud she was of her daughter and granddaughters.

She spoke always of her love of God, and church. I was pleased to have laughed with her and spent some time with her.

  2. Sorry to here about your mom. Your parents were very dear to our family and we enjoyed many happy times with your family living on the coast.
Fishing was a very big part of my life and the many trips with your dad are remembered fondly along with the fish fry’s with yours, the Plowmans and Kaufmans.
May GOD,s blessing be with you as you remember these good times.
