Henry James McDonald, 73, a resident of Houston, Texas, passed away on May 24, 2026. He was born on March 15, 1953 in Walker, Louisiana to parents, Eugene McDonald and Adline V. Ashton.

Henry aka Chilli Mac was a Jack of All Trades who always worked hard to take care of his family. He was the crazy glue that held his blended family together. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, spending time with family and watching them grow.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lee McDonald, daughter, Marie Daniels and son, Marcus Dawson. He leaves behind to treasure his memory, his loving wife, Peggy San Martino; daughters, Stacy Lopez, Celina McDonald-Schmidt and husband, Chance, Tanya DeLoSantos and husband, John, son, Branden Byrd; and Ashley San Martino and husband, Diopoldo; brother Gene McDonald and wife Carolyn; sister Hazel Bell and late husband Bo Bell, brother Alton McDonald and wife Tammy, brother Roy McDonald and wife Alice, brother Johnny “Chubb” McDonald. Eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In his honor, there will be a visitation on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm. Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
