Heleni “Lela” Yunakov
Heleni “Lela” Yunakov passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, in Webster, Texas at the age of 94. She was born onAugust 1, 1929 in Athens, Greece. Lela is survived by her son Christopher and Granddaughter Emily and numerous family members and friends.
Lela immigrated to the United States to join her brother John, and she became an American citizen in 1967. She enjoyed her work as a master seamstress. She designed clothing for family, friends and clients for a variety of occasions. She had a passion for family and cooking and loved to grow lemons and herbs in her garden.
A Funeral Service will be held on January 9th, 2024 at 4:00 PM at St. John The Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, 202 N Walnut, Webster, TX 77598. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Stroke Association.
Heleni was always there to support and encourage me. She cooked for me on many occasions, and it was always top notch. Her sweet voice always reminded me to look out for her son, Christopher, since high school, and I’ve always appreciated that trust. She will be missed. All my love to the family, from the Mosses.
