Gloria Brown

Gloria Brown, age 56, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home from liver cancer. She was born on January 26, 1963, in McAllen, Texas, to Maria Rios Garcia and Jose Garcia. She was a graduate of the Pan American University’s GED program. She then attended the university as an undergraduate and completed 2 years.  She married Renard Brown on June 3rd, 1988, in McAllen, Texas. She started her professional career working for the Drug Enforcement Administration as a translator.  She then worked as a correctional officer in Houston, Texas for the United States Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons for 19 years. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her grandmother Soledad Vazquez, her aunt Amalia Prado, and her sister Sylvia Garcia. Gloria leaves behind a numerous list of family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Renard; her children Jaime, his wife Aron, Ashley, Arianna and her husband Rashad; her grandchildren, Mila, Titus, Zoey, Luke, Eternity, and Bella. Gloria is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Javier Garcia and wife Clarabell, Robert Garcia and wife Carol, Mando Garcia, Joe Garcia and his wife Lucy Garcia, Yolanda Garcia, Maria Hernandez; and nieces and nephews; Moses Bara, Linda Gale Bara, Elva Baralopez, Gilbert Bara, Cindy Garcia, Rocky Garcia, Daniel Hernandez, Laura Hernandez, Mary Diaz, Lupita Prado, Juanita Prado, Maria de Jesus, Robert Jr. Garcia, Sylvia Garcia, Nicholas Garcia, Kevin Garcia, KaSara Garcia.

A visitation in her honor will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2019,  with a celebration of her life 10:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2019, at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas.

  1. Hey, Tia just want to say that we love you and that I’m sorry that I ain’t going to be there to see you off right now I’m in pain can barely walk. I know that one day I will see you again. You will be missed and we will always remember you. I’m just glad that you don’t have to suffer anymore as far as your kids and Renard don’t worry about them we will be here for them if they need us because family is a good and beautiful thing. Also, I know that once you get to the beautiful world that’s what I call it (Heaven) you will be Happy you will be pain-free you will be able to sing, dance and all that beautiful stuff and not only that your going to be able to see your mom and dad and all of our family that left us. God Bless You, We will always love you and all of our family.
