  1. Gertrude has been a part of my life as long as I can remember, and I have always appreciated her positive spirit. Her parents lived two doors from us when I was a baby in Houston, and they cared for me sometimes when they also had Gertrude’s daughter Mary Anne. Mary Anne became my lifelong friend. Even after we moved to Texas City Mary Anne’s family all always welcomed me and went to great lengths to make sure we were able to spend time together.
During her last years of life, Gertrude was blessed to have her devoted family helping take care of her and her needs. Grandson Scott became a live-in companion and caregiver, while Mary Anne made frequent trips from Houston to visit and keep her business affairs in order. Grandson Lance also came from Louisiana to help when needed. We will all miss Gertrude!
