Georgie Jo Bridges (Jo), 86, of South Houston, Texas, passed away on January 20, 2026. Jo was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 15, 1939, to Winfred Harold Guy and Pauline Lenore Osbourn. She has been a resident of South Houston, Texas since 1964.

Jo is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Herbert Bridges, her parents, father, Winfred Guy, mother, Lenore Luzader and stepfather, Dale Luzader.

She is survived by her son, Terry Bridges, and his wife Robyn. Her sisters, Lea Dever, and Ann Miller. Her grandchildren T.J. Bridges (Elizabeth), Amber Fraley (Matthew), Christopher Bridges (Raymond), and Tiffany Pompa (Mathew). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Alyza Bridges, Emily Bridges, Jonathan Bridges, James Fraley, and Ethan Fraley.

In 1948, when Jo was 9, her mom and stepdad moved the family to Pasadena, Texas where she, Lea and Ann grew up, went to school and went on to marry and have wonderful families.

She loved good books and was a voracious reader who could converse on almost any subject having read a book or books about it. She loved good food and cooking. But above all else she loved her family. Her opinion was never in question because she always made it known, good or bad, and she was always there to listen when you needed it. She was never without a story to tell and there was usually a life lesson or two snuck in amongst the antics and laughter. She didn’t always get jokes but that usually made the situation even funnier. She loved reading to her grandkids. They would all snuggle up around her on the couch and listen with rapt attention to the story at hand.

She also enjoyed and was very good at sewing and crocheting, making many wonderful outfits for her grandkids. She made the bride’s maid dresses for Terry and Robyn’s wedding.

She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Crowder Funeral Home located at 2422 E. Broadway St., Pearland, Texas 77581.
