Francis Joseph Zeringue, Sr.

Francis Joseph Zeringue, Sr., 91, born January 13, 1927, in Gramercy, LA, passed away at his home March 4, 2018. He was married to Billye Jeanne Zeringue on January 25, 1947, for 67 years. Francis moved to Texas at 17, working for Amoco Oil company for 42 years, retiring as Superintendent of Heavy Equipment. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, he was a resident of Santa Fe, Texas for over 43 years. He loved gardening, carpentry, and a good bowl of seafood gumbo. Francis’ greatest joy was his family, 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Francis is preceded in death by parents Felecien and Elmire Zeringue, wife, Billye Jeanne Zeringue, brother, Richard Zeringue, sister, Margie Murphree, son Francis J. Zeringue, Jr. and son-in-law Dean Osborne.

Francis is survived by son, Ronnie Zeringue and wife Dana, daughters Kathleen Osborne, Yvonne Painter, and Sherri D’Argenio and husband, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Sharon Zeringue.

Francis was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Brian Zeringue, Leslie Mullen, Diron Painter, Melissa Painter, Liane Barton, Brandi Osborne, Chad Zeringue and Devon, Delaney, Roman and Melina D’Argenio and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, with a vigil at 7:00 pm. A funeral service, including mass, will be held on March 9, 2018, at 10:00 am at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, with Father John Kappe officiating, interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson.

Pallbearers include Diron Painter, Josh Mullen, Cameron Mullen, Keegan Mullen, Devon D’Argenio, Roman D’Argenio, Chad Zeringue and Tyler Barton with Honorary Pallbearer Kenneth Deslattes and Doug D’Argenio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, 10114 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX. 77563.
