Forrest Eugene (Gene) Moss, Jr.

Forrest Moss PhotoEugene (Gene) Moss, Jr. of League City, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Houston Methodist St. Johns Hospital in Nassau Bay, Texas at the age of 79.  Gene was born on January 5, 1937 in Beaumont, Texas to Forrest E. Moss, Sr. and Eva Myer Moss. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and always loved his ranching activities.  Gene was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dickinson, Texas, an active member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and a past member of the Rotary Club and Optimist Club.  Gene loved watching his children, grandchildren and great grand children as they grew and experienced many of their extracurricular activities.  Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Alexine Strum Ingraham.  Gene is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Davis Moss and his three children; Karen Tubbs (Layne), Craig Moss (Lynn), and Mary Kathryn Moss (Brett Church).  He had 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Gene was also blessed to have many wonderful friends spanning his lifetime.  The family will receive family and friends for visitation on Sunday from 4:30 – 6:30pm.  Services will be held on Monday, at 10:00am at Crowder Funeral Home.  Burial services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas at 3:00pm.
