Esther Ann Loverdi

Esther Ann Loverdi, 83, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2023, in Houston, TX.  She was born on July 2, 1939, in Houston to Anthony and Lucille Tirreta. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Joseph of 61 years and sister Antoinette Clede.  Esther is survived by her sons: Joe and his wife Lisa; Tony and his wife Mary Jo; daughter Lisa and her husband Kevin; grandchildren: Joey, Valerie and her partner Justin, Jacquelyn and her husband Collin; great grandchildren: Isabella, Madison and Mackenzie; her sister, Charlene Jameson and numerous other family members and friends.  Esther graduated from Saint Agnes Academy in 1957 in Houston, TX.  Esther’s most important and rewarding job was being a Loving Wife, Beloved Mother and Granny.  Family was most important to her and she treasured spending time with all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Esther was an excellent cook.  She loved spending hours in the kitchen preparing for the many family gatherings that were held at her home throughout the years.  She looked forward to each holiday, but her absolute favorite was Christmas! Esther enjoyed gardening.  She was a member of The Lakeside Garden and Craft Club and Gardeners by the Bay.  A favorite past time of hers was sitting at the kitchen table admiring her beautiful backyard.

When she wasn’t entertaining, she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband.  She also enjoyed participating in various clubs and organizations centered around her Italian Catholic heritage.   She spent time with her sisters in the Ladies of Sacred Heart and Amiketos Club.  Together, they made countless Italian cookies for the Saint Joseph altar celebrated each Spring.  Esther was blessed to have stayed connected to her graduating class of 1957.  They enjoyed monthly social events together over the years.  She also looked forward to her monthly Cousins Dinners where they reconnected and reminisced.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joe Loverdi, Tony Loverdi, Joey Loverdi, Kevin O’Brien, Justin Young and Collin Thomet.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 3131 El Dorado Blvd. from 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM.  A funeral mass will be held immediately following at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a memorial donation in Esther’s memory may do so to Society of St. Vincent De Paul – Houston www.svdphouston.org – 2403 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77021.
