Edward Herndon Adams

Edward Herndon Adams passed peacefully from this life to the next on February 28, 2020 in Webster, Texas at the age of 84.

Born on August 16, 1935 in Mansfield, Georgia to Margaret and James Adams, Edd was married to his high school sweetheart Dottie Jean in 1958.  Edd was a 20-year Air Force Veteran, having received the Purple Heart for injuries received during his deployment during the Vietnam War.  After his retirement from the military, Edd worked in Houston for Brown & Root for 10 more years before retiring for the 2nd time.  In retirement he enjoyed his dream-job of being a marshal at South Shore Harbour Golf Club near his Clear Lake City home.  Edd and Dottie Jean were long-time members of Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

Edd is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Jim and Hugh.

Edd is survived by his loving wife Dottie Jean, his daughter Kelly and her husband Steve, his only grandchild Joshua and wife Kiym, and great-grandaughters Cadence and Kylie.

A private military service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund at vvmf.org.

  2. Kelly, i am stunned as i just learned today(5/17/2020)that he had passed. I would always drive by in my truck or bicycle in hope that he was outside. About a year ago i had him squeeze into my race car and fired it up. He was covering his ears but grinning from ear to ear. Wish i had taken a picture of it. He was as good as they come. I will miss my friend. – Todd Bailey
