(Edna) Katherine Whitley,91, of Garland, Texas passed away peacefully June 1, 2024. She was born in Lancaster, Texas on March 6, 1933.

She was an outstanding employee at Western Electric where she was awarded proficiency in all categories of efficiency and safety as a professional employee. She graduated in Dallas from Crozier Tech High School. She enjoyed being a stay at home mom for ten years while volunteering at their church with the Visitation Program and making meals for families. Also, she was a caretaker for elderly for several years while her husband was employed as the Security Officer In Christian Care.  She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, hospitality, floral decorating, antique shopping, and baking goodies for church events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bud) E. Whitley, and grandson, Garrett M Berg. She is survived by her sister, Shirley A. Kocher and her three children of Garland and surrounding area. Surviving children include Cathey Suzette Berg and Michael E. Berg, Sharlyn Elaine Clark and grandchildren, Josh, Lindsey, Dylan, and Shannon Berg Mitchell. She has six great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Garland Memorial Park, Graveside at 11 a.m. adjacent to Williams Funeral Home.
