Eda ‘Edie’ Dunn

Eda Nora Dunn (Edie), 73, of Santa Fe, Texas passed away on February 18, 2022.  Edie was born on October 3, 1948 in Galveston Texas to parents Thomas and Catherine Glover.  Edie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She loved attending her sons’ ball games and showing their livestock.  She continued on with her grandkids attending their ball games and supporting them at the livestock shows throughout the State.  She enjoyed river trips, especially with her dear friends Lillie and Gary McFarland and Dr. Donnie and Carlene Cleary and their kids.  In Edie’s younger years, she was active in the Galveston 4-H Club, serving as President, and showing livestock including steers, sheep, and poultry.  Edie loved her horse, Rao, and competed in barrel racing competitions. She participated in the Galveston County Fair’s Queen Contest.  Edie loved wearing her flip flops and moo-moos. Edie’s family was the absolute love of her life.

Edie is preceded in death by her father Thomas and her brother-in-law Joey Koleng.

Left to cherish her loving life are her mother; children: Stuart ‘Bubba’ Dunn Jr (Traci) and Chad Dunn; sisters: Esther Koleng, Catherine ‘Tootie’ Tranchina (Samuel),  Annie Wilde (Joseph), and brother Thomas Glover Jr (Sandra); grandchildren: Patrick, Lucas, Joey, Justin, Jacob and Ricky Dunn; nieces and nephews: Kristin Weber, Sammy Tranchina, Eric Glover, Anthony Tranchina, Todd Glover, Terry Bell, and Kastin Wilde; and lifelong friend Kenneth Schaper, and numerous other family members and dear friends.

Pallbearers Patrick Dunn, Lucas Dunn, Joey Dunn, Todd Glover, Sammy Tranchina, Terry Bell, Eric Glover and Anthony Tranchina.

Honorary Pallbearers Justin Dunn, Jacob Dunn, Ricky Dunn, Gary McFarland, Dr. Donnie Cleary.

There will be a visitation held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson Texas from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, Texas with interment to follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

  4. My sincere condolences to Eda’s entire family for your loss. Unfortunately, I only met Eda a few months ago. But I could quickly tell that she was a fun-loving down-to-earth kind of gal. I think we would have become close friends. Deepest regrets,
